Liner "SEABOURNE VENTURE" calling to Kinsale Harbour, 8/May/2024
The stunning liner SEABOURN VENTURE of the Seabourn Shipping Line company is calling to Kinsale on Wednesday, 08/May/2024.
She is nearly 600 ft long and 80ft wide. The contingent of 264 passengers are expected to embark for a few hours in Kinsale where trips to local sites and events have been organized. Cork County Council has poured much effort in bring this and other liners to Kinsale and suitable ports around the county.

"Seabourn Venture launched in July 2022, and sister ship Seabourn Pursuit launched in August 2023. Both ships are designed and built for diverse environments to PC6 Polar Class standards and include a plethora of modern hardware and technology that will extend the ships global deployment and capabilities. The new ships are a brand new innovative design, created specifically for the ultra-luxury expedition traveler, and include many features that have made Seabourn ships so successful.
A new and exciting offering will be two custom-built submarines carried onboard, providing an unforgettable view of the world beneath the ocean’s surface. The ships are also designed to carry a complement of double sea kayaks as well as 24 Zodiacs that can accommodate all onboard guests at once, which will allow for a truly immersive experience. Each ship will feature 132 all veranda, all ocean-front suites."
Chief Executive of Cork County Council, Valerie O’Sullivan said 11 cruise calls will be made to Cork County Council’s harbours this year. “West Cork is becoming increasingly popular for small ship, expedition cruising. Attracting such prestigious international visitors here is a valuable contributor not just to the local economy but also to the region’s reputation and visibility.
“We will welcome 11 cruise calls to our harbours in 2024, to Kinsale, Schull and Bere Island. Meanwhile, in Bantry, the cruise season has already begun, and the Port of Cork will receive 22 cruise ships this summer,” she added.
The Seabourne Venture arrived into Kinsale early on Wednesday morning where passengers spent a more leisurely day, enjoying guided walks of historical Kinsale, a culinary tour and a visit to nearby Timoleague.
