Kinsale Regatta 2024: Seaside spectacle and fun for everyone...

If it is the August Weekend then Kinsale for the Regatta is the place to be. Running for over 200 years, there is something for everyone.

 

19-June-2024: Superyacht "AIR" returns to Kinsale.

Following in the propellor-wash of superyacht "SCOUT", another gem visits Kinsale - superyacht "AIR". 
Arriving the 15/June she anchored in Kinsale for 2 weeks, her onboard helicopter taking her guests further inland. 
She is normally based in Grand Harbour, Valetta, Malta and flies the Maltese flag.

17-June-2024: Propellor of WW1 submarine recovered to Kinsale.

Subsea Survey Services, based in Kinsale harbour, took part in the recovery of what is believed to be a propellor from stricken WW1 german submarine UC-42.
All indications are that the submarine was destroyed by a mine that she had just dropped while mine-laying 5nm south of Roches Point, Cork harbour.
Working together with Mizen Archaeology and Blackwater Sub-Aqua club the propellor was lifted by m/v HARPY and brought ashore at the Main Pier, Kinsale.

15-June-2024: Superyacht "SCOUT" back in Kinsale.

The superyacht "SCOUT" is back in Kinsale, berthed in Castlepark. A wonderful and hopefully frequent sight in Kinsale.

25-May-2024: Cruise-ship "Le Dumont d'Urville" due in Kinsale

At approximately 06:30 the cruise ship "Le Dumont d'Urville" arrives at the Inner Harbour anchorage from Scilly Isles. 
Later, many of its passengers will disembark - using the cruise ships tenders - for a morning of sight-seeing trips in the region.
She will depart later that evening for its next port of call.

13-May-24: Cargo vessel m/v BEAUMONT arrives from Rouen.

Wed, 15/May/24: m/v BEAUMONT, (89m LOA), berthed on the southern pier, cargo 2,700 tn bulk rapeseed to unload.

08-May-2024: Liner SEABOURNE VENTURE visits Kinsale Harbour.

Wednesday, 08/May/2024 sees the liner SEABOURNE VENTURE visited Kinsale Harbour.
Arriving at 07:30am her 264 passengers enjoyed touring Kinsale or were whisked off to see the local sights.
She left later that day, her next port of call being Plymouth, UK.
